FREE Outdoor Movie Today ~ Labyrinth

by Carmen Cruz

Raise your hand if the movie 'Labyrinth' scared the bejesus outta you when you were a kid.....

Yeah, me too. And yet, like most of you, I loved watching it over and over.

Today, we get to relive the magic.  You can catch the free outdoor movie at the park directly across from second beach. The movie starts around sunset, but I recommend getting there between 7:30pm and 8pm to make sure you get a prime spot.

Bring you blanket, your friends and some popcorn... and prepare to be transported to the Labyrinth, or worse, the bog of eternal stench (nooooooooo!!!!).

Now that I think about it, I think it was David Bowie who scared me the most in this movie... and the little dog who rode the sheepdog. So weird...

Can't wait!!!

Enjoy,

SONGS OF THE WEEK!!!

by Carmen Cruz

Here's a mish-mash of wicked songs.

Seu Jorge ~ Rebel Rebel - A Brazilian singer who (for 'The Life Aquatic' movie soundtrack) covers a bunch of classic David Bowie songs, in Portuguese. SO AMAZING! When Bowie himself heard the covers, he was quoted as saying, "had Seu Jorge not recorded my songs in Portuguese I would never have heard this new level of beauty which he has imbued them with." CooooooOOOOooool!

Son Lux~ Betray - If you like Massive Attack, you'll love this dude. Sexy, ambient-type music. It's the bees knees! Seriously.

Jamie Lidell ~ Multiply - A white boy with a whole lotta soul.

Iron & Wine ~ The Devil Never Sleeps - C'mon!!! It's IRON & WINE!!!!

Lorene Scafaria ~ Girls Aren't Supposed To - A fantastic tune about a gal dating someone who just can't 'seal the deal'. Listen to the lyrics and you'll understand ;)

Enjoy!
