Quentin Tarantino In Vancouver ~ Tonight

by Carmen Cruz

Kinda...

 Ok, not really.

-BUT- if you're a hardcore Quentin Tarantino fan (can I get a whoot, whoot?), then you'll be pumped to hear that TONIGHT, Vancouver Retro Cinema Fest continues the par-tay with two of Tarantino's best flicks. You can catch Pulp Fiction and Inglorious Basterds (back-to-back) at Denman Cinemas (1779 Comox Street). Show starts at 7 and there will be prizes for best dressed and trivia.

Tickets are $20 (plus HST) and you can get them here.

If you're still feeling nostalgic, make sure you check out the retro flicks showing the rest of the week (which include Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, Ghostbusters and The Big Lebowski - just to name a few).

FREE Outdoor Movie Today ~ Labyrinth

by Carmen Cruz

Raise your hand if the movie 'Labyrinth' scared the bejesus outta you when you were a kid.....

Yeah, me too. And yet, like most of you, I loved watching it over and over.

Today, we get to relive the magic.  You can catch the free outdoor movie at the park directly across from second beach. The movie starts around sunset, but I recommend getting there between 7:30pm and 8pm to make sure you get a prime spot.

Bring you blanket, your friends and some popcorn... and prepare to be transported to the Labyrinth, or worse, the bog of eternal stench (nooooooooo!!!!).

Now that I think about it, I think it was David Bowie who scared me the most in this movie... and the little dog who rode the sheepdog. So weird...

Can't wait!!!

Enjoy,
