Japadog will be holding a hotdog eating contest at their YVR airport location. The goal is to scarf down as many hotdogs as possible in 10 minutes. Only 6 lucky (and hungry) people will be selected to compete. Wanna be a part of this? Here's the deal:
You've gotta visit the Japadog stand at YVR’s Chester Johnson Park (outside International Arrivals on Level 2) and enter your name in a draw. Deadline to enter is THIS Wednesday, August 8th.
The final 6 competitors will be randomly selected THIS Thursday, August 9th .

So whatcha gonna win? All 6 participants will receive $15 YVR bucks (that should be enough to cover one hour of parking at the airport terminal) and a $10 Japadog gift certificate (nice!).
The BIG winner will receive $250 YVR bucks (enough to cover a solid day of parking at YVR... jk!) and a $50 Japadog gift certificate (SUPER nice!).

You can watch the hotdog eating action take place on Friday, August 17 from 12:30pm-1:00pm at International Departures, Level 3.

All this hotdog talk has me craving some street right now....

What secret???
Victoria's Secret!
The massive lingerie retailer opens its doors for the first time here in Vancouver, on Monday in the U.S. Terminal of the Vancouver International Airport. They'll carry the usual VS merchandise including perfumes, make-up, bags, wallets, sunglasses and jewelry. Aaaaand, rumour has it there's going to be a 'panty bar' located near the center of the store. A panty bar??? I have no idea what this is, but sorry boys, I'm thinking it won't be Victoria's Secret models serving you a frosty cerveza in their ginch.

Either way, doors open on Monday. I'm curious as to how VS will do at YVR, rather than in a mall. Let me see... the parking is expensive and crappy and it's not at all conveniently located. I guess it's pretty much the same as locating it in downtown Vancouver, am I right? Truth be told, this will be just one of 3 VS stores opening up in Van. The other one is slated to appear in Pacific Centre (no idea when) and the 3rd will be opening in either Oakridge or Metrotown (don't hold you breath for anything soon though).

Now while I'm definitely not going to go out of my way to drive down to the airport to check out the new VS store, you can rest assured that then next time I'm picking up or dropping off someone at YVR, I'll be making my way there extra early ;).

Oh! And all this talk about Victoria's Secret might have you wondering when their famously infamous fashion show airs on TV. Don't worry, you haven't missed it. You can catch the 2011 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show November 29th on CBS.
