50 Shades Of Grey (Movie) : Filming In Vancouver In November

For all the 50 Shades fans (and you know who you are) let the stalking begin!    
The movie cast has been announced and so has the filming location.


Charlie Hunnam (Pacific Rim, Sons Of Anarchy) will be playing the infamous Christian Grey (turns out Ryan Gosling was the first choice and not surprisingly, turned down the offer) and Dakota Johnson (The Social Network) will be playing Anastasia Steele.


Filming starts November 5th in Vancouver's North Shore Studios.

While many may roll their eyes to hear the news, I say, CONGRATS to the BC film industry! After taking a few big hits over the past year, this is awesome news. Let's get this raunchy movie DONE!!!

Long Weekend Adventures & Songs Of The Week: Big Pun, Ginuwine, R Kelly, Blackstreet, Missy Elliott

There are 2 words in the English language that will make a female germaphobe break down in tears:

Unisex Bathroom.

The biggest hotspot in Gastown is this fantastic pub/nightclub that has all the bells and whistles most people look for in a night out, but **shudder** those unisex bathrooms are a real killer. The putrid smell, the wet floors, the lifted toilet seat with... OK. Must stop. **find a happy place.... find a happy place...**
Let's call a spade a spade here: Men's bathroom = GROSS. Who honestly thought that this would be a good idea? Fail.
Moving on...
The 'Gastown hotspot' in question was playing wicked music. My friend A.B. and I ended up arriving in the middle of a retro R&B/Hip Hop musical set. I'm talking 90's - early 2000's. Let's just say that the dancing session there got pretty intense.

Diamonds ~ The Boxer Rebellion - It's actually a romantic comedy that really helped launch these guys. If you haven't seen the movie 'Going The Distance', watch it. It's hilarious. Either way, an amazing band.

Dumb & Dumber To: Win A Walk-On Role!

There's no question about it, Dumb & Dumber is one of the funniest and most quotable movies
ever made.
And now (JOY!) it's official: Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey have signed on to be a part of the sequel (Dumb & Dumber To) which begins filming next month (September = YAY!). The film is scheduled to be released some time in 2014.
Can you imagine being a part of this epic sequel?!?! Guess what... You CAN! The Farrelly brothers (the writer/director team of both the original and the latest installment) have issued a contest for a walk on-role on the upcoming film. Here are all the details (as posted on their facebook page):

 "Alright, here are the contest rules for Winning A Walk-On On Dumb & Dumber To!

First, make a Vine re-creating a scene from the original Dumb & Dumber, but put your own spin on it.

Use the hashtag #DumbTo so we can see them all. (Yeah yeah, I know what a "hashtag" is...now)

Cool Stuff To Do This Weekend: Zombies, Cheese Rolling and Viva Latin America!

It's that time of year again. Zombie Walk 2013 happens tomorrow (Saturday, August 17th).
Are you listening up all you Zombie lovers? Your instructions are as follows:  
Assemble at the Art Gallery steps (by 3 PM is suggested). The Zombiewalk starts at 4 on the dot! The Horde leaves the Art Gallery and travels up Robson towards Denman. Hangs a left on Denman. Continues on to English Bay, Sunset Beach and the small park with all the laughing Asian man statues.

Basement Jaxx ~ Mermaid Of Salinas - This track is off their upcoming five-track EP 'What A Difference Your Love Makes', which will be released on September 30. This song = Fun!


Nine Inch Nails ~ Copy Of A - Doesn't this remind you of THIS song that NIN wrote for the 1997 movie 'Lost Highway'??? So freaking awesome! This tune is off their new upcoming album called 'Hesitation Marks', which is set for release on September 3. So who's all going to the NIN concert???


Lady Gaga ~ Applause - Rumour has it this was leaked a week in advance of its original release date.
It's hard to know if this is true or an attempt at drumming up some publicity. Either way, a cool tune. Her new album called 'ARTPOP' is due out on November 11.


Panic! At The Disco ~ This Is Gospel - Their new album called 'Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die!', comes out on October 8.  Is it just me, or does the lead singer kinda sound like the singer from Fall Out Boy in this tune? Proof here...

Fred Armisen + Kings Of Leon = Comedic Trailer *WATCH*

Kings of Leon have released a trailer for their special show at London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire,
which takes place this Friday (August 9). Comedian Fred Armisen will direct the webcast of the event. Hilarity is guaranteed to follow.


The entire gig will be streamed by Youtube and Vevo.

KOL have also released another single off their new album 'Mechanical Bull'. The track is called 'Wait For Me'.

'Mechanical Bull' is scheduled for a full release on September 24rth.
